Macnica, Ltd. is proceeding smoothly with preparations with Sakai Town and BOLDLY Co., Ltd. for the introduction of the autonomous bus "NAVYA ARMA" (manufactured by France's Navya) in Sakai Town, Ibaraki Prefecture, and in March 2020. As of the 31st, the following work has been completed.

・Domestic import of 3 autonomous driving buses “ARMA”
・Collection and creation of 3D map data of planned driving routes
・Operator training and operation review, etc.

In response to the spread of COVID-19 infections in Japan, Sakai Town has implemented early prevention measures and decided to postpone the introduction of the autonomous bus "ARMA" by six months.
Macnica is also implementing remote work for all employees, and all meetings regarding this project are being held online.

At Macnica, we will work with Sakai Town and BOLDLY to review the optimal plan and continue to prepare for the practical application of Japan's first autonomous bus on public roads.
