(hereinafter "Baraja", headquartered in Sydney, Australia; CEO: Federico Collarte) and will begin selling Baraja's LiDAR products, which have an extensive sales track record overseas.

LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) sensors combine the advantages of both cameras and radars, and are one of the most important devices for serving as the eyes of autonomous driving vehicles and for realizing advanced safety driving functions.

The Baraja LiDAR, which Macnica will now begin selling, is capable of controlling point cloud density in real time using Spectrum-Scan™.
This applies the principle that changing the frequency changes the angle of refraction of a laser when it passes through a prism.

The resolution is a maximum of 0.05° horizontally and 0.025° vertically (changeable in real time), and objects can be detected at a distance of 240m or more with a reflectivity of 10%. HFOV: 120°, VFOV: 25°.
By separating the laser drive part (engine) and the prism part (sensor head), the total cost for 360° measurement is reduced.
In the unlikely event of an accident, downtime and costs can be reduced by simply replacing the sensor head.
The sensor head and engine are connected by an optical fiber cable, which can be extended up to several hundred meters.

Macnica expects to take advantage of Baraja's high-spec LiDAR and its unique features to expand the use of the system not only in automobiles, but also in a variety of non-automotive applications, such as construction machinery, railways, security, and infrastructure-related applications.
