Macnica (hereinafter Macnica; headquartered in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Kazumasa Hara; capital: 11,194 million yen), a total service/solution provider in semiconductors, networks, cybersecurity, and AI/IoT, has agreed to become a distributor for Cleanwatts.Lda (hereinafter "Cleanwatts"; headquartered in Coimbra, Portugal) and will begin offering the energy management system "Kisense®" in Asian markets, including Japan.
In his policy speech *1, Prime Minister Suga declared that Japan will achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and that a decarbonized society will be realized, with greenhouse gas emissions to be reduced to zero by 2050. As part of each company's environmental efforts toward the realization of a decarbonized society by 2050, there is an increasing demand for in-house renewable energy generation. However, renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power are affected by the weather, and stable power generation and supply are unstable due to issues with power generation efficiency. As a result, there are challenges in how to optimally manage energy without waste, and how to stably supply distributed and unstable renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power.
Macnica will now begin offering Cleanwatts' "Kisense®," an advanced energy management platform that can meet the needs of all businesses involved in renewable energy, including energy users, prosumers, and power generation companies. It manages electricity, gas, water, and CO2 emissions in real time, and allows users to obtain reports on electricity usage, perform real-time ON/OFF control, peak cutting, visualize CO2 reductions by comparing with past data, and detect equipment anomalies early. This will enable customers to significantly reduce their operating costs and power usage, and increase the ratio of in-house generation and self-consumption of renewable energy.

By collaborating with Cleanwatts, Macnica will be able to grasp power usage, manage power supply and demand, reduce and level out power usage, and raise awareness of environmental issues, all of which are necessary for a stable supply of renewable energy. We will contribute to the realization of a Sustainable Society, including the continued reduction of environmental impact.
