About the dimming system

What a dimming system can do

  • Control your entire lighting from your PC or tablet
  • ON/OFF for each area is possible
  • Brightness adjustment (lighting at required illuminance)
  • Automatically turns on/off in conjunction with motion sensors (warehouses, etc.)
  • Reduces the brightness of the lighting when outside light enters by linking with the illuminance sensor to save energy

Recommended for customers like this

[1] I want to adjust the brightness according to the usage scene (example: gymnasium)

[2] I want to change the lighting range depending on the scale of use (eg gymnasium)

[3] You want to save electricity by turning off the lights in the daytime as there is outside light (example: office)
Use the illuminance sensor to automatically adjust to the set illuminance

[4] I want to reduce the illuminance to less than half when no one is present (example: warehouse, etc.)
Uses a motion sensor to automatically dim the illuminance if the person is absent for a long time.

[5] I want to stop going to the site to control the lighting (example: soccer court)

In sports facilities, JIS Z 9127 (2011) stipulates that the prescribed illuminance varies depending on the event and level (division) of the competition.

Dimming system type

DALI
Abbreviation for Digital Addressable Lighting Interface. With simple additional equipment, 64 lights can be controlled in one DALI system.

DMX512
It is mainly used for controlling stage lighting and production equipment. A single system can control 512 channels.

Mechanism of dimming of LED lighting

There are two types of LED lighting methods: static lighting and dynamic lighting.

Static lighting (DC lighting)
It is a constant lighting method, and the current continues to flow to the LED at all times.

Dynamic lighting (pulse lighting, duty lighting)
This is a method that flashes at high speed at a constant cycle.
Since the lighting time is shorter than the constant lighting, power consumption can be suppressed and the life of the LED can be extended.
You can adjust the brightness by shortening the lighting time.

The dimming system is a function that utilizes this dynamic lighting.
Use the PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) function of the constant current power supply that lights the LED to control the time the LED is lit.
Narrowing the width of the lighting time (Width) makes it darker, and widening the width makes it brighter.
The flicker is imperceptible to the human eye because the time of turning on and off is very short.
