Macnica develops integrated solution for monitoring production status and predicting motor failures, and provides it to Nissei, a comprehensive soft serve ice cream manufacturer

Macnica (headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Kazumasa Hara; hereinafter referred to as Macnica) announced today that it has developed an integrated solution that combines its original manufacturing performance system, "DSF Cyclone * 1," with the "Mpression Smart Motor Sensor (hereinafter referred to as SMS) *2," a failure prediction service specialized for low-voltage three-phase motors, and has begun offering the solution to Nissei Corporation (headquarters: Ibaraki, Osaka Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Yoshida Bunji; hereinafter referred to as Nissei), a comprehensive soft-serve ice cream manufacturer.

In the past, Nissei had to check the status of data managed in the manufacturing process, utility management data, and data from SMS, a specialized low-voltage three-phase motor failure prediction service that had already been introduced, separately. In addition, as part of the "Smart Factory HISSEI" initiative to promote DX (Digital Transformation) in factories, aiming for stable production facility operation and efficient use of data at the production site, the company was faced with the issue of the complexity of viewing multiple management data and the need for a manufacturing performance We felt the need for a system.
Therefore, to address these on-site issues and future visions, we decided to introduce Macnica original comprehensive solution combined with "DSF Cyclone," which enables visualization of production status and production efficiency, as well as an integrated dashboard that centrally manages SMS data specialized for predictive failure prediction.

By operating DSF Cyclone at its manufacturing sites, Nissei will be able to check data related to overall production and detailed data on motor failures on a single dashboard. With the services provided by Macnica, Nissei will be able to improve manufacturing efficiency and maintain stable manufacturing equipment, thereby advancing its "Nissei Smart Factory."

*1: About the manufacturing performance system "DSF Cyclone"
DSF Cyclone is a manufacturing performance system that connects the manufacturing site and production management with performance data to optimize factory production efficiency and productivity. It enables data-driven decision-making for factory operations. Data collection, normalization, and utilization are all in one package, with functions that make it easy to deploy to the entire factory. DSF Cyclone was developed by Macnica and has been introduced to a wide variety of manufacturing processes. At manufacturing sites where it has been introduced, efficient manufacturing is achieved based on daily performance data.

*2: About Mpression Smart Motor Sensor
This is a failure prediction solution specialized for low-voltage three-phase motors, developed by Analog Devices, Inc., and provided as a service in partnership with Macnica. Users simply perform initial setup using a smartphone, and the sensor learns the motor's condition, and an alarm is received in the event of an abnormality occurring in the motor. Nine types of motor abnormalities can be detected, each analyzed with an independent normal value from 0 to 10, and users can minimize fatal failures and downtime without having special knowledge of vibration analysis or AI in predictive maintenance.
