1. Overview of the MOTIX™ Series
MOTIX™ is the general name for Infineon's motor control IC product line, ranging from simple gate drivers to integrated devices that include a microcontroller, MOSFET, power supply IC, and communications in a single package.
We offer a lineup for a wide range of motor ratings and applications.
The diagram below shows the functions included in each series, but on this page we will introduce the MOTIX™ MCU, an embedded power IC.

2. Main Features and Lineup of MOTIX™ MCUs

Infineon's MOTIX™ MCU is a power IC that incorporates a 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M-based microcontroller in relay, half-bridge, H-bridge, and three-phase bridge drivers. It features a current-controlled output stage, flexible charge and discharge current settings, and several diagnostic functions, optimizing the system. It also improves overall system reliability with advanced diagnostic functions, reducing space and energy consumption through a single package, and contributes to overall cost reduction with a minimum of external components.

Block Diagram
The MOTIX™ MCU series integrates all the functions required to sense, control, and drive motors in a single package: an Arm® Cortex®-M based microcontroller, non-volatile flash memory, analog and mixed-signal peripherals, LIN or CAN(FD) communication interfaces, and the driver stages required for relay, half-bridge, or H-bridge DC, and BLDC motor applications.
It is designed for sub-1kW BDC and BLDC motor control in body, comfort, and thermal management applications, making it particularly suitable for applications requiring a small package and minimal external components.
3. Application
The MOTIX™ MCU series is suitable for a wide range of motor drives, from thermal management applications (pumps, fans, valves, blowers) to door-mounted motors that improve vehicle comfort.
It has been used in modules, closure systems, seat applications, etc.

Software development environment
Config Wizard for MOTIX™ MCU
Config Wizard for MOTIX™ MCU is a tool for configuring and generating register settings for all Infineon embedded power IC families with Arm® Cortex®-M cores.
A graphical configuration tool that plugs into KEIL's uVision IDE, with the actual GUI loaded from CMSIS-DFP.
MOTIX™ Solution Designer
MOTIX™ Solution Designer is a graphical tool for analyzing, debugging and tuning motor control applications based on Infineon's MOTIX™ motor control stack.
Configuration tool supporting all Infineon MOTIX™ MCU families with Arm® Cortex®-M cores.
BSL Tool for MOTIX™ MCU
The BSL Tool for MOTIX™ MCU is a user interface for controlling the firmware of MOTIX™ MCU targets via the included bootstrap loader. It establishes BSL communication with TLE988x/9x devices via UART over CAN and provides access to the BSL commands provided by the device.
Memory Analyzer
Memory Analyzer is a tool for analyzing memory allocation and statistics in ARM Linker Output Format (AXF) and IAR Linker files with the extensions ILINK and XLINK(OUT).
It is intended for embedded hardware and/or software developers who are familiar with motor control schemes and want to evaluate microcontroller memory allocation.
