We have developed a ±12V isolated DC/DC power supply reference board specifically for PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and FA (Factory Automation) equipment.

Many analog signal processing circuits for sensors are mounted in devices connected to fieldbuses related to PLCs and FA devices, and high precision is required, so positive and negative power supplies are required. In addition, power supply isolation is essential for reliability reasons to prevent unexpected failures at sensor nodes from affecting the entire system.

This reference board is designed using Analog Devices' isolated power supply controller IC (type: LT8302) and a general-purpose transformer (Wurth Elektronik's part number: 750313443). Insulated power supplies often have problems with the availability of transformers, but since they are general-purpose products, they can be safely applied to systems for PLCs and FA equipment.
