This time, I will introduce the efficiency calculation technique of the multi-output power supply circuit (LTC3315A).

Let's check the efficiency of a multi-output power supply circuit!

Analog Devices' LTspice model can be used to simulate power supply efficiency. This is a very convenient function, so it is often used when selecting a power supply.

 

The efficiency of a DC/DC converter is calculated from the steady state input and output power of the circuit. LTspice requires one independent voltage source and one current source or resistor named Rload to identify the input and output.

 

Therefore, some ingenuity is required to calculate the efficiency of a power supply circuit with two or more outputs (Rload). In this video, we will introduce how to calculate the efficiency when there are two or more outputs.

 

This time, we will use the behavioral model to calculate the efficiency. For behavioral models, please also refer to the article "Let's create original waveforms with behavioral voltage sources!"
