"Delegated Flow" that can execute automated flow with one button

Introduction

Okta Workflows is a function that automates various tasks without using scripts or code. (Reference article: What exactly is Okta Workflows...I'll explain!)

This time, I would like to introduce "Delegated Flow", one of the functions of Okta Workflows that allows you to execute a flow directly from the management screen with a single button!

What is Delegated Flow

Delegated Flow is the ability to run Okta Workflows directly from your dashboard.

Delegated Flow can be used in the following ways.

  • You can issue a guest account with an expiration date simply by entering user information from the Okta management screen.
  • Create administrators who can only run Delegated Flows, and run flows from the Delegated Flows page without accessing the Workflows Console
    (Detail is here)

Execution image of Delegated Flow

I will explain the execution image of one of the usages, "Issuing a guest account with an expiration date simply by entering user information from the Okta management screen".

1. Go to Workflow > Delegated flows screen in Okta dashboard
2. Click "Run" at the right end of the column of the flow to be executed
3. Enter the necessary items for issuing an account, such as the user's email address, and click Run.

Although it is possible to manually create and disable users from the Okta management screen, it takes a lot of man-hours and mistakes are more likely to occur. can be connected.

Summary

By using the Delegated flows feature introduced this time, the range of usage of Okta Workflows will be greatly expanded.
