Introduction Introduction to Menlo Security "SECURE"
VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) is a type of computer system that allows users to access a desktop environment from a remote location.
As working from home and remote work has become more common, it has been used to work safely and efficiently, as well as to prevent information leaks.
VDI has helped many organizations for many years, but it has faced challenges in terms of user convenience, cost, and security.
On this page, we propose replacing VDI with Menlo Security's "SECURE" as a new option and introduce use cases.
What is Menlo Security “SECURE”?
A solution that protects internal access and data security with three functions
- ZTNA: Set access policies for in-house applications for each user. Realize a secure remote access environment by restricting writing and viewing for external contractors.
- DLP/Copy and Paste Restrictions: Restricts sites such as generative AI to prevent information leaks to the outside
- Forensics: Understand browser activity, who typed what on which site

Use Case
1. When using Internet access
VDI Issues: When transferring a virtual terminal screen on an Internet-connected environment to an in-house terminal

Replacement with Menlo Security: Resolves issues of usability, cost, and security. Achieves higher cost-effectiveness than VDI

2. When using internal access
VDI Issues: When using VDI to prevent information leaks when remotely accessing internal servers

Replacement with Menlo Security ①: ZTNA functionality provides higher cost-effectiveness than VDI

Replacement with Menlo Security ②: Implementing measures against information leakage with functions such as DLP and copy and paste restrictions
