Features of Digital Temperature/Humidity Sensor HTU21D

The HTU21D is a digital temperature and humidity sensor from TE Connectivity.

It is a digital temperature/humidity sensor suitable for applications such as IoT, mobile terminals, and wearable devices because it is small (3mm x 3mm) and operates with a standby current consumption of 0.14μA or less and a measurement current consumption of 500μA or less.

The HTU21D has four major features.

  2. Battery (battery) drive is possible
  3. No need for troublesome calibration
  4. Space saving

1. I2C interface for easy connection with microcomputers

The HTU21D can be directly connected to a microcomputer with an I2C interface. Therefore, you can easily evaluate it by connecting it to your microcomputer.

2. Battery (battery) drive is possible

The HTU21D operates with a standby current consumption of 0.14μA or less and a measurement current consumption of 500μA or less. Therefore, operation with a coin battery is also possible.

In addition, by combining with a low power consumption microcomputer, the entire system can be operated with low power consumption.

It is also suitable for applications where power is not available, such as outdoor and portable equipment.

3. No need for troublesome calibration

All HTU21Ds are individually calibrated and do not need to be calibrated. The user can use it as is.

Therefore, your company can reduce the burden at the time of factory shipment.

4. Space saving

Space-saving 3 x 3mm, 1mm height DFN package. It can be placed freely, so it can be fully adopted for applications with limited space such as IoT and mobile devices.

A module "HTU21D Peripheral Module" is available to facilitate development. The 12-pin connector of this module has terminals necessary for communication.
