Features of "MS8607" that can measure pressure, humidity and temperature

MS8607 is an all-in-one digital composite sensor that can measure three environmental physical measurements (PHT) of atmospheric pressure, humidity and temperature provided by TE Connectivity.

The MS8607 can measure barometric pressure, humidity, and temperature in a 5mm x 3mm ultra-small QFN package, making it ideal for applications that require miniaturization such as smartphones, wearable devices, and mobile devices such as drones.

The MS8607 has four major features.

  1. Measures atmospheric pressure, humidity, and temperature with a size of just 5mm x 3mm
  2. Excellent measurement accuracy of 24bit
  3. Connects directly to the microcomputer via I2C
  4. No need for troublesome calibration


Each feature is explained below.

1. Measures atmospheric pressure, humidity, and temperature with a size of just 5mm x 3mm

Three environmental physical measurements, barometric pressure, humidity, and temperature, can be measured with one sensor. The size of the sensor is an ultra-small QFN package with a size of 5mm x 3mm.

Therefore, since there is no need to prepare a sensor for each, the mounting area can be reduced.
In addition, since the number of parts is reduced, there are merits of improving product reliability and shortening the development period.

2. Excellent measurement accuracy of 24bit

The MS8607 can measure 24-bit pressure, temperature and 12-bit relative humidity with high resolution.

Pressure can be measured from 300 to 1100Mbar, humidity from 5 to 95%RH, and temperature from -20°C to 85°C, making it suitable for HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning control) and weather station applications as well as smartphones. It can also be used as an environment monitoring function and an altimeter in a tablet PC.

3. Connect directly to the microcomputer via I2C

The MS8607 has an I2C interface. The I2C interface connects directly to the microcomputer.
Therefore, you can start evaluation immediately with your microcontroller.

4. No need for troublesome calibration

All of these sensors are individually calibrated and do not need to be calibrated. Users can start using the MS8607 immediately.
