This is an overview of a demonstration that utilizes the Sodia – Cyclone® V ST SoC evaluation board to efficiently accelerate computations on a SoC FPGA using OpenCL.
The Sodia - Cyclone® V ST SoC Evaluation Board is an evaluation board featuring the Intel® (formerly Altera) ARM-based Cyclone® V ST SoC FPGA that allows hardware and software developers to quickly develop embedded applications in an environment similar to real-world applications. A platform for developing system designs. It is a higher-end model of Helio (Cyclone® V SoC Starter Kit), inherits most of Helio's HPS peripheral functions, and is software compatible, making it an ideal board for users considering expanding from the Helio board.
Sodia is a product of Mpression, an original technology brand provided by Macnica group.
Read the program from the SD card, run the calculations on the ARM processor inside the Cyclone® V ST SoC, and output to DVI.
This demo compares the generation of the Mandelbrot set and fractal figures "only with an ARM processor" and "with an SoC FPGA".
So what are the results? !
The continuation of this can be seen in the video. This video also introduces three other demos, including a video conversion demo. Please take a look.
