"The excitement of the WBC returns! Macnica Baseball Classic begins!"
Nice to meet you! I'm Kousuke, a new engineer on the Infineon Automotive team!
Once again, the annual event for new Macnica engineers, the "production training" season has arrived! Click here to see the previous production training (New FAE Kuro-chan's Struggle Report)
This time, with the desire to relive the excitement of last year's WBC (World baseball Classic), the theme was "Real Baseball Board," and MBC (Macnica Baseball Classic) was held.
This year, five new engineers will be participating, the highest number ever, so the battle is sure to be even more heated than usual on the day of the event!
In this blog, I would like to share with you my struggles and setbacks as I work to create a robot with the aim of winning, so I hope you will read it with a kind eye!
"MBC Detailed Rules ~Bats aren't the only thing that can hit the ball back!!~"
The robot's specifications are simple and straightforward! 1) Hit the ball rolled by the pitcher with a bat, and 2) Go around 1st, 2nd, and 3rd base and return to home base.
There are a few detailed rules, but the key points are the direction of the ball, the distance it flies, and the speed at which it traces the line.
The robot that creates the highest total score will be ranked first in MBC!
What's more, there are no restrictions on the type, shape, or size of the bat in this workshop, giving participants a lot of freedom! Just thinking about what kind of bat they'll use is exciting!
If you were to build a robot, what kind of bat would you use?
And at the end of the match, special additional points await you! The Chief Judge (someone important) will award the "Artistic Award" and the Vice Judge (Technical Director) will award the "Special Technical Award."
These are important points that will affect the final points, so I would like to aim for them aggressively!
Look forward to the next installment, "Aiming for a mobile Macnica! Design begins!"
