LDO LT3094・LT3045 suitable for high-precision sensors and analog circuits

LDOs (linear regulators) are very simple devices that play an important role in removing ripple from noisy signal sources. In particular, low-noise products are useful for powering small signal sensors, analog circuits, and high-quality audio.

Analog Devices' low noise LDO series LT3045 (positive supply) /LT3094 (negative supply) contributes to the design of precision sensors and analog circuits with the following three features.

- Industry's highest level of low noise and PSRR (power supply voltage fluctuation rejection ratio)
・Distributes heat and noise by connecting in parallel
・Preparation of ±12V power supply reference board for high-precision, low-noise circuits

Industry-leading low noise and PSRR (power supply voltage rejection ratio)

Switching power supplies are often used to configure highly efficient power supply systems. However, since a power supply voltage generated by a switching power supply contains a large amount of noise, PSRR is an important factor when supplying to highly sensitive analog circuits and sensors.

The LT3045/LT3094 each achieve ultralow RMS noise of 0.8µVRMS from 10 Hz to 100 kHz. PSRR is also highly effective, with the LT3045 for positive supply output being 76 dB at1 MHz and the LT3094 for negative supply output being 74 dB at 1 MHz.

Parallel connection distributes heat and noise

The LT3045 has a wide input voltage range of 1.8V to 20V and theLT3094 from -1.8V to -20V and can output current up to 500mA.In addition, the lower limit of the output voltage range is covered to 0V.

When choosing an LDO, heavy loads require thermal considerations, and the LT3045/LT3094 can each be paralleled with a single resistor to spread heat and noise.

The LT3045/LT3094 have the property of reducing the RMS noise of the output voltage by 1/√N for N identical devices in parallel.
