Ransomware attacks remain at a high level, with attackers exploiting vulnerable publicly accessible assets as their primary entry point. According to the National Police Agency's "Situation of Threats in Cyberspace in 2025" ^*4, the number of ransomware attacks reported in 2025 reached 226, and of the 92 valid responses regarding infection routes, 61 were via VPN devices and 19 via remote desktop, meaning that intrusions originating from publicly accessible assets accounted for 87% of the total.
