Macnica Macnica Attack Surface Management, an in-house developed solution, won the No. 1 ASM market share for the third consecutive year

Macnica (Headquarters: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Representative Director and President: Kazumasa Hara, hereinafter referred to as "Macnica") is a subsidiary of Macnica Attack Surface Management (hereinafter referred to as Macnica ASM), a subsidiary of Macnica, Fuji Chimera Research Institute ^{* 1} We are pleased to announce today that we have won the No. 1 market share in the ASM tool market for the third consecutive year (FY2022, FY2023, FY2024 results, vendor share).

■Background
The damage caused by ransomware attacks continues to increase, and recent reports of damage to major corporations have raised public concern. Many of these attacks are no longer intrusions via traditional websites or emails, but are now exploiting vulnerabilities in externally exposed RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol), VPN devices, and servers. In particular, intrusions via affiliated companies and overseas subsidiaries with inadequate security measures have been confirmed, making it an urgent issue for many companies to "accurately understand and continuously monitor the externally exposed assets of their own and affiliated companies."
As a result, an increasing number of companies are implementing Attack Surface Management (ASM) initiatives to comprehensively understand and address their publicly available assets and the risks they pose.

■What is Macnica ASM?
Macnica was one of the first Japan to offer its in-house developed ASM solution in June 2021. Macnica ASM provides accurate and comprehensive research by leveraging proprietary AI-driven tools that leverage the knowledge of the Macnica Security Research Center, as well as expert research when needed. It is now possible to identify assets including overseas bases, such as domains and stray servers that customers do not know themselves, and effectively deal with high-risk assets based on unique risk indicators that take into account attacker trends.
In addition, we are focusing on expanding our capabilities, such as providing a patent-pending method for securely identifying vulnerabilities in VPN devices from the outside and a web portal designed specifically for ASM operations.

In this survey, Macnica ASM will have a 38.5% share of ASM sales revenue in fiscal year 2024 ^{* 2}, an increase of 7.7 points from 30.8% ^{* 3} in fiscal year 2023, placing it in first place ^{* 1}.

Cyberattacks that exploit publicly available assets are expected to continue. Macnica will continue to provide Macnica ASM to many companies and strive to reduce the probability of incidents caused by externally available assets by even 1%.
