We held an internal event to discuss DE&I and promoting women's participation in the workforce on International Women's Day.
In the age of VUCA, the key to continuing to innovate and surviving in the competition for survival is the active participation of each and every diverse workforce, as Macnica founder Haruki Kamiyama advocated, "It starts with people and ends with people." In order to continue to be an open and fair Macnica where people can feel the potential of their careers and play an active role freely, we held the first in-house event "Macnica Divercity Fes" on Friday, March 8, 2024, International Women's Day, inviting outside experts to discuss DE&I and the promotion of women's empowerment.
■Event Overview
In the first part, we invited Professor Akira Iriyama, a leading authority on the world's most cutting-edge management theories, and Sputniko!, an internationally active individual who was selected as one of the "100 Most Respected Japanese People in the World," to hold a discussion with Macnica 's Representative Director and President Hara and Executive Officer Sakakibara, where they reexamined the significance of DE&I activities, women's empowerment, and diversity promotion.
In the second part, six female employees with a variety of career backgrounds who are active at Macnica took to the stage for a panel discussion on topics such as "work-style concerns and success stories" and "what kind of company they want Macnica to be."
More than 400 people participated in the event, both in person and online, providing an opportunity for many employees to think about DE&I and promoting women's participation in the workforce.
The event report and the video of Part 1 of the discussion are now available, so please take a look.
