Macnica held a safety course to prevent phishing that exploits Short Message Service (SMS) at Yokohama City Shinohara Junior High School.

In recent years, damage from smishing, a phishing scam that exploits SMS, has been increasing year by year, and is accelerating due to the fact that smartphone users are becoming younger and information devices are becoming more commonplace due to the spread of the COVID-19 infection.
Therefore, as part of the security education that accompanies the compulsory information education, we held a safety course for third-year junior high school students *, which is also the time when the smartphone usage rate is increasing, about the actual situation of smishing fraud and its countermeasures. . In addition, in cooperation with the Kanagawa Prefectural Police, we introduced the cyber security hotline as a contact point for reporting to the police.

* Smartphone usage rate: Junior high school students about 70-80%, high school students about 90%
