(Headquarters: Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Representative Board Director President: Koji Yokota, Palo Alto Networks' cloud-native security platform, Prisma Cloud, is pleased to announce the deployment of Palo Alto Networks' cloud-native security platform, Prisma ^® Cloud, into its full cloud banking system.

Minnano Bank is Japan's first digital bank, which started service in May 2021, and was established as one of the digital transformation (DX) promotion strategies of the Fukuoka Financial Group. The bank pioneered the construction of a full cloud banking system from scratch to support future banking business. This banking system is based on a Microservices architecture, and uses a cloud-native environment in which applications are configured in a container environment and operations are managed using Kubernetes.

Security is as important as stability and availability in banking systems. Minna no Bank has deployed Prisma Cloud for enhanced security and visibility across the cloud-native environment of its banking system, including containers and Kubernetes clusters running. In addition, in order to reduce security risks such as introducing vulnerabilities at each stage from development to operation, the bank has implemented DevSecOps, a "shift left" approach that considers security from the initial stage of development. Prisma Cloud was incorporated into the banking system and each application, and development proceeded in cooperation with CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous delivery) tools.

Prisma Cloud is running in the production environment of the banking system with installation and configuration support from Macnica Solutions, a partner company of Palo Alto Networks. Among the various security functions of Prisma Cloud, targeting website and smartphone application environments, vulnerability management and compliance management of container images, runtime defense that monitors the behavior of applications running in containers and Kubernetes cluster execution environments, and access control. These functions are utilized to reduce the occurrence of incidents and increase the security of the Clyde Native banking system as a whole.

In addition, it is now possible to comprehensively operate and monitor the security of the entire cloud across multiple regions, and vulnerability diagnosis and investigation of the cause of incidents are automated, reducing the burden of operation management.
