If you see this error, the following may be the cause:

- The settings in the Programmer are inappropriate.
(hardware, programming mode, programming file)
- The hardware driver is not installed
- The device to be programmed does not match the device in the programming file.
(Device set at compile time)
- The wiring on the board (e.g. MSEL pins, etc.) is incorrect, or there is a poor connection.
- Affected by noise (circuit board, PC clock, etc.).
- There is no power supply.
- The JTAG pins are not processed (pull-up/pull-down).

Please check these and correct any applicable items.
