Product Summary

The Si86Sx series is a digital isolator using a low power consumption CMOS process.
It has higher insulation characteristics and CMTI characteristics, and is a high-speed and robust product group that is top class in the industry. The delay variation between channels is small (2ns max) and the PWD is as small as 2ns (max), making it ideal for signal lines such as ADCs and DACs. There are also products that are pin-compatible with the previously released Si86xx series. We have a lineup of 1/2/3/4/6ch, low power consumption type, models with sleep terminal, and models suitable for SPI, QSPI, and I2C bus.

The Si86S6xx is pin compatible with the Si86xx. Although there are some differences in characteristics such as TTL input and CMOS input, it is ideal for customers who want to improve noise immunity (CMTI characteristics Up and deglitch filter), isolation voltage, and surge voltage.

Low current consumption type Si86SLxx

Si86SLxx is a model that prioritizes power saving with the same pin arrangement as Si86xx and Si86S6xx. Propagation Delay is 11.5ns (typ) compared to 9ns (typ) of normal products, PWD (Pulse Width Distortion) is 7ns (max) compared to 3.5ns (max) of normal products, and there are some differences in characteristics. Yes, but the current consumption is about 20% lower than the Si86Sx product.

The Si86SMxx are low current consumption products with a sleep mode pin (SMB).

By setting the SMBpin on the primary side to Low, the output power on the secondary side can also be turned off. Products with an enable pin on the secondary side require a separate isolator to turn off the secondary side, but this is not necessary.SMBpin is always working, but IDD1 is about 750uA (typ) and low current consumption. Output at Sleep is High Impedance. It is useful in systems where secondary power consumption is a concern.

The Si86SS41 is an isolator for SPI. Since there is a Chip Select (CS) terminal, it is possible to share the SLK, MOSI, and MISO of multiple devices, so the controller can control multiple SPIs with the minimum signal line.

The Si86SQ44 is a QSPI (Quad SPI) compatible product.
The DIR pin can change the signal direction for transmission and reception, and can operate in half-duplex mode.
Quad SPI is a standard used to speed up data transfer when accessing serial memory such as flash memory. It facilitates the design of the interface between the external serial memory and the microcomputer.
It is similar to SPI, but has four data lines (MOSI and MISO) instead of two, the data lines operate in half-duplex mode, and all four lines carry 4 bits of data on the same clock edge. Read and write.

Si86SOxx is a lineup of inverted output.
The open-collector output of a photocoupler is generally an inverted output product. Using the Si86Sxx eliminates the need for additional inverters when the input/output truth values must be matched for /INT, /RESET, and /FAULT signals.
By using inverting logic, you can easily configure the logic of a low-cost DCDC converter.

Glitch filter option Si86SxxxH,F

The Si86Sxx has an option with a built-in deglitch filter. Signals shorter than td are not passed, and signals exceeding this are output without cutting the pulse width. This allows the signal to be sent without compromising the PWD. PWD = |t PLH- t PHL| is 2 ns (max) except for some models. (Please check the data sheet for details)
