USB4 v2/TBT5 compatible bidirectional redriver "PS8780" achieves high performance and low power consumption for cables and systems

SAN JOSE, CA – September 17, 2025 – Parade Technologies, Ltd., a leading supplier of high-speed interface, video display, and touch controller ICs, has announced the PS8780, a bidirectional linear redriver supporting USB4 Version 2 (USB4v2) Gen4, TBT5, and DP 2.1 Alt Mode for active cables and NB/PC/WS systems. This product is pin-compatible with the PS8778, a bidirectional linear redriver supporting USB4 Gen3, TBT4, and DP 2.1 Alt Mode.
The PS8780 supports USB4v2 Gen4 x 2, or 2 x 40Gbps symmetric mode and 120Gbps asymmetric mode, 2 x 41.25Gbps TBT5, and UHBR20 link rates in DP2.1 Alt Mode. It also implements power management features for USB4, USB 3.2, and DP2.1a, including DP2.1a Advanced Link Power Management (ALPM). Its low-power design and Modern Standby support significantly extend battery life in mobile devices and minimize power consumption for active cables. The PS8780's extremely compact package makes it ideal for cable- and space-constrained designs.

Delivery Status
The PS8780 is currently available in a halogen-free, RoHS-compliant, 2.8mm x 4.4mm, 28-pin QFN package.
