The NCN26010 is the first 10BASE-T1S integrated Ethernet MAC+PHY transceiver on the market. Designed to provide industry-leading and reliable multipoint communication in industrial applications.

This allows for higher data throughput than existing cabling and eliminates the need to run new cabling, which is often the most costly part of network installation.

Main features/functions

Enhanced Noise Immunity Mode (ENI Mode)

It extends the PHY 's noise immunity beyond the noise levels defined in IEEE 802.3cg, enabling devices to withstand industry-standard immunity tests.

Minimum MDI line capacitance

The lowest MDI line pin capacitance in its class allows maximum number of nodes per segment. This allows for more node connections and reduces cables, connectors and installation costs. (Supports up to 40 nodes in a 25-meter segment, well above the IEEE minimum standard)

Connect multiple devices over a single twisted pair using one MACPHY​ ​per port.

MACPHY

Connect to controllers, sensors, and other devices that may not contain a MAC.

Collision detection masking

Masking detected collisions enables operation in noisy conditions and prevents false collision detection in noisy environments. When used in conjunction with the ENI, the NCN26010 has unrivaled noise immunity.

Physical Layer Collision Avoidance (PLCA)

Enhancements to the PLCA media access protocol provide semi-deterministic real-time performance over shared media.

NCN26010BMNEVB bridge board and NCN26010XMNEVB 10BASE-T1S evaluation board

The NCN26010BMNEVB Bridge Board and NCN26010XMNEVB 10BASE-T1S Evaluation Board are a set of PCBs designed to access ONSemi's NCN26010 SPI compatible 10BASE-T1S MACPHY. This kit can demonstrate the basic functionality of MACPHY and can also be used as an experiment tool to develop your own embedded software drivers for the NCN26010 device.

The NCN26010BMNEVB bridge board has a PMOD connector that connects to the NCN26010XMNEVB and a 40-pin connector that can be connected to a Raspberry Pi, etc., so you can easily build an evaluation environment using the NCN26010XMNEVB.
