Features
Linear amplifier offering low offset voltage
Precision digital trimming provides an offset voltage comparable to zero drift. Also, linear amplifiers have spectral purity.
The figure below compares the NCS20166 with zero-drift op amps from other companies. Zero-drift amplifiers tend to alias above 100kHz, but the NCS20166 does not.
wide bandwidth
The figure below shows the THD (Total Harmonic Distortion Factor) characteristic value versus frequency and the graph showing the voltage noise density.
Total harmonic distortion plus noise [THD+N] is as low as 0.001% at 1kHz, and voltage noise density is as low as 10 nV/√Hz at 1kHz.
Applications benefit from the wide bandwidth, such as measuring steering position as a steering angle sensor, or current control loops as current sensing.
excellent response
The step response below shows how quickly and cleanly the amplifier responds to an impulse input. In addition to being fast, the response should exhibit stability in that it does not ring, oscillate, or overshoot. Good transient response is essential in current limiting and signal conditioning circuits.
