Automotive High Side Switch Product Overview
Infineon's Intelligent Power Devices (IPDs) have a history of over 30 years and have been adopted for many automotive applications. In particular, the high-side switches can be used as a replacement for mechanical relays in junction Box, power distribution Box, heater applications, lighting applications, and for driving DC brush motors for small pumps. In addition to being a simple switch (MOSFET), the IPD has protection circuits against overcurrent and overheating, so it can continue to function as a switch without being destroyed even in abnormal conditions such as short circuits, and so many IPDs are actually used in cars.
Infineon offers a lineup of high-side switches for a wide range of applications, current values, and battery voltages.

PROFET™+2 12V
The latest PROFET™+2 12V family is a high-side switch for 12V batteries with state-of-the-art diagnostic and protection functions. In addition to the conventional lineup, "Grade 0" products compatible with Tj = 175°C that meet the requirements of the extended mission profile have been released, especially for applications under harsh high temperatures and long product life. The PROFET™+2 12V family is mainly available in TSDSO-14 packages, and the 1-channel and 2-channel models are pin-compatible, so the labor required for changing the board layout can be significantly reduced even when the number of channels is increased.

PROFET™ Load Guard 12V
PROFET™ Load Guard 12V provides high flexibility and system protection with adjustable overcurrent protection to suit load and requirements. The adaptability of current limit to changing load drive requirements, pin and feature compatibility within the product family, and compatibility with PROFET™+2 12V devices, minimizes design efforts. It is especially suitable for sensors such as cameras, radars and sensor fusion in ADAS systems.

PROFET™ Wire Guard 12V
PROFET™ Wire Guard 12V has built-in hardware-based I²t wireprotection and adjustable overcurrent detection. The integrated I²t wire protection allows PROFET™ Wire Guard to accurately calculate the stress on the wire taking into account the measured current, and the wire protection status is fed back to the microcontroller for precise monitoring of system operation.

Power PROFET™+ 12V / 24V / 48V
Power PROFET™+ is a high-side switch with extremely low resistance (1.0mΩ to 2.5mΩ) and protection function. It is especially designed to drive high current loads of DC 25A to 40A, and can be used to replace high current relays and fuses in various applications such as power distribution and heating. In addition, the latest products adopt a leadless TOLL package, realizing a large current in a space-saving manner.
