Development environment

・Hardware development environment

To develop Nios ® V hardware, you need Quartus ® Prime (paid) and Nios ® V (free) licenses.

Both licenses are available from Altera's Self Service license Center (SSLC).

・Software development environment

Since Nios® V is based on RISC-V, you can use third-party vendors' development tools for RISC-V.

If you do not have a RISC-V tool, you can use the following tools provided by Altera free of charge.

-Ashling* RiscFree* IDE for Intel® FPGAs (free)
