Introduction
Developing a high-performance vision system typically takes around six months, so reducing time and resource usage is key to success.
To support this, ONSEMICON provides a reference module for image sensors called PRISM (Premier Reference Image Sensor Modules).
This time we will introduce how PRISM works, its benefits, and how to implement it.
PRISM and its benefits
PRISM is a pre-optimized subsystem using ON Semiconductor's industrial and commercial image sensors.
The new sensors include PRISM as standard, and when combined with hardware adapters and development kits, they streamline prototype design, significantly shortening the time from prototype to market.
A typical vision system is comprised of many elements, including optics (lenses), image sensors, sensor interfaces, image processing, and AI. Precise alignment between the lens and sensor is essential to maintaining image quality. Even slight misalignment can lead to performance degradation.
ON Semiconductor provides support materials for deploying PRISM in production designs, performance verification reports under NDA, and standardized PRISM adapters enable connectivity to major AP/SoC platforms.
Premier Reference Image Sensor Module
Below is PRISM This is a list of ONSEMI image sensor modules supported by the ecosystem.
・ PRISM1M-AR2020CSSC130110-GEVB: Equipped with SmartROI 20MP The module efficiently delivers high image quality and is compatible with multiple platforms.
・ PRISM1M-AR0830CSSC130110-GEVB The 8MP sensor combines high image quality with the industry's best power efficiency, making it a perfect solution for doorbell cameras and smart access applications.
・ PRISM1M-ARX383CSSM130110-GEVB: Portable QR Ideal for small, high-performance devices with constraints, such as barcode scanners ARX383 Equipped with 0.3MP Global Shutter Module
・ PRISM1M-AR0145CSSM130110-GEVB: For applications such as barcode readers and autonomous mobile robots 100 Megapixel global shutter module
・ PRISM1M-AR0235CSSM130110-GEVB This camera is equipped with the AR0235 image sensor. 200 Megapixel global shutter modules are solutions for applications such as barcode readers and autonomous mobile robots.
・ PRISM1M-AR0822NPSC130110-GEVB: For multi-camera systems requiring sensors with built-in HDR 8MP Module (AR0822). A multi-camera configuration consumes a lot of data transmission bandwidth, but onboard eHDR By function HDR This can significantly reduce bandwidth usage.
