EEPROM suitable for factory automation and IoT

The “N24RFxx” series provided by ONSEMI is an EEPROM that conforms to RFID interface in addition to conforming to I2C interface for communicating with microcontrollers. Therefore, as an EEPROM that can be read and written wirelessly, it is the optimum memory when considering factory automation and the Internet of things IoT for automating the factory production process.

1. Equipped with two interfaces, RFID and I2C

It complies with the international standard ISO 15693 / ISO 18000-3 Mode 1 for RFID that communicates using the frequency of 13.56 MHz. In I2C, both 400kHz Fast mode and 1MHz Fast mode plus are supported.

2. High reliability

This product has twice the data retention period and rewriting times of conventional products, and has an operating temperature of up to 105°C, which is about 30°C higher than conventional products.

3. With Energy Harvesting Analog Output

In this product, N24RFxxE with E at the end is a product with Energy Harvesting Analog Output. This energy harvesting mode is enabled to provide an analog voltage Vout available from the Vout pin when the RF field strength is sufficient. Therefore, this function enables Read/Write without power supply.

4. Lineup of various uses and capacities

This product can read and write data without physically inserting a cable when writing data to the board during maintenance such as applications and mass production lines. Therefore, in factory automation, it can be used for purposes such as checking work history and process history, and in IoT, it can be used for purposes such as rewriting air conditioner specifications. There are also three types of memory capacity lineup: 4kbit/16kbit/64kbit.
