From the features of NVIDIA® Jetson AGX Orin™, we will introduce the benefits and evaluation questions and notes for Jetson users when using it.
If you are developing with Jetson, do you have any of these problems?
example
・I want to process multiple applications in parallel at the edge, but the performance is insufficient.
・You want to replace your GPU-equipped tower PC with a smaller one with the same performance.
Jetson AGX Orin Resolves
The introduction of Jetson AGX Orin makes it possible to process multiple processes at the edge in parallel and at high speed. We are considering it in various industries such as robotics, FA, and retail. We will take a closer look at Jetson AGX Orin, which boasts tower PC class performance in the same shape as NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier.
Illustrated lineup of Jetson modules including Jetson AGX Orin
Jetson AGX Orin has the same form factor as Jetson AGX Xavier, so you can choose the appropriate hardware according to performance.
Jetson AGX Orin Module Features
・GPU server class performance
Jetson AGX Orin uses NVIDIA Ampere for GPU architecture. Ampere is an architecture traditionally used for GPU cards such as RTX, and can achieve GPU server-class performance while being small.
・8 times the performance of Jetson AGX Xavier
By adopting the Ampere architecture, AI performance is up to 275 TOPS*, which is more than 8 times higher than the previous generation Jetson AGX Xavier.
As an example, it is possible to improve performance and speed up in the following cases.
- Human behavior detection
- Human pose estimation
- Automatic speech recognition
*Performance for Jetson AGX Orin 64GB version.
・Same shape as Jetson AGX Xavier
・The same software as all Jetson series can be used
You can develop with a common SDK called JetPack.
How to rate the Jetson AGX Orin?
We offer two Jetson AGX Orin developer kits with 32GB or 64GB memory options.
Frequently asked questions from prospective customers
Is there a JetPack version to use with the Jetson AGX Orin Developer Kit?
Must be verified with JetPack 5.0 Developer Preview or later.
Is there any performance difference other than memory capacity between 32GB and 64GB memory of Jetson AGX Orin module?
In addition to memory capacity, there are differences in AI performance, number of GPU cores, number of CPU cores, etc.
Please refer to the Jetson AGX Orin product page for details.
I would like to know how to set up the Jetson AGX Orin Developer Kit.
Below are the setup instructions.

Please note the following regarding setup.
Regarding the installation of Jetson SDK Components in Step2,
As shown in the forum below, /etc/apt/sources.list.d/nvidia-l4t-apt-source.list
It is necessary to change from r34.0 to r34.1 in the file.
Then run the following commands to upgrade and install the Jetson SDK Components.
sudo apt update
sudo apt dist-upgrade
sudo reboot
sudo apt install nvidia-jetpack

Other notes
・The Display connector of the Jetson AGX Orin developer kit is only a DP port, so a DP to HDMI conversion connector is required for HDMI output.
・L4T is pre-installed on the Jetson AGX Orin developer kit, but please prepare a host PC with Native Linux in case the OS crashes.
