Demonstration experiment started with EH-Terminal in super-large warehouse

At the Macnica Logistics Center, a super-large warehouse that Macnica is proud of, we carry out warehousing, storage, management, and shipping of products every day under a thorough management system. For semiconductors that require strict quality, it is of utmost importance to control the environment, such as constant temperature and moisture-proof storage.
Therefore, we have started a demonstration experiment to monitor environmental data in ultra-large warehouses using EH-Terminal, which can collect and visualize data such as illuminance, temperature, and humidity sensors.

I will install many slave units (EH-Terminal-B) in the warehouse and monitor them. Let's check whether the temperature and humidity are constant in every corner of the super large warehouse, regardless of the season or day or night.

Why is EH-Terminal good?

Advantage 1: Construct a mesh network immediately by turning on the switch

Install the software on your computer, connect the main unit to the USB and switch it on. This will automatically configure the mesh network. After that, if you install the handset in your favorite place, you are ready to go. Of course, no specialized knowledge or troublesome settings are required.

Since the EH-Terminal uses Dust Networks from Linear Technology for its wireless communication section, the robustness of the wireless communication connection with the upper layer is high, and up to 100 EH-Terminals can be configured in a mesh configuration with low power consumption. can be connected.

The EH-Terminal Starter Kit includes 1 parent unit + 5 child units (EH-Terminal-B) + software. An EH-Terminal equipped with a dye-sensitized solar cell is also available as an option.

Advantage 2: Easy data display and output with original software

By using Macnica original software (EH-Terminal Data Logger), you can easily integrate and output acquired data.

How did the demonstration experiment progress?

Now let's take a look at the environmental data for Macnica Logistics Center.
The image below shows the temperature, humidity, light intensity, battery, and drive voltage graphs displayed using software called Splunk. Naturally, the graphs don't seem to change much. I'm relieved.

The battery level of the child device itself is also displayed, so you can know when it's time to change the battery. Using other software, you can output the data in CSV format and visually see how the mesh network is configured.

This time, we tested it in a large warehouse, but it is expected to be used in a variety of other places, such as offices, homes, agricultural fields, and commercial facilities.
