In this article, we will introduce the isolated RS-485 transceiver, which is a new product from Analog Devices.
The ADM2795E is a 5kV rms signal isolated RS-485 transceiver with up to ±42V ac/dc peak bus overvoltage fault protection on the RS-485 bus terminals. This product uses Analog Devices' iCoupler® technology, which combines a 3-channel isolated RS-485 transceiver and IEC electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) overload protection in a single package.
The ADM2795E is an RS-485/RS-422 transceiver with integrated IEC 61000-4-5 Level 4 surge protection capable of protection up to ±4kV on the RS-485 bus terminals (A and B) .
The device features up to ±2 kV IEC 61000-4-4 Level 4 EFT protection and IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 ESD protection on the bus terminals and ±15 kV without latch-up on the transceiver interface terminals.
