JOSIS - User Case Study - Keio Construction Co., Ltd.
Achieving integrated management that visualizes the connections between "people, things, and SaaS."
Keio Construction, a comprehensive construction company within the Keio Group, provides safe and high-quality living environments from a multifaceted perspective encompassing architecture, civil engineering, and railways, with its core business being the construction and maintenance of all essential infrastructure, from offices to residences, welfare facilities, and educational institutions. Having long struggled with the management of IT assets and accounts, the company adopted "Josys," an integrated management service for autonomous IT devices and SaaS, to solve this problem. As a result, issues such as failure to delete accounts of former employees have been eliminated, leading to cost reductions and mitigated security risks. Furthermore, the company has also made progress in detecting shadow IT and improving operational efficiency.
- Because devices and accounts were managed manually, omissions and forgetting to update information occurred.
- Accounts of former employees are not deleted, leading to unnecessary costs and security risks.
- The lack of linkage between "people, goods, and SaaS" results in a significant amount of work being required for verification during inventory checks.
- The numerous separate management ledgers have been consolidated into Josis, enabling accurate and efficient management.
- This eliminates errors such as failing to delete accounts of former employees, resulting in cost reductions and mitigated security risks.
- The visualization of the connections between "people, things, and SaaS" has reduced the operational burden of asset management.

Numerous problems exist in managing devices and accounts; "people, things, and SaaS" are fragmented, resulting in a huge amount of work being done.
Since its founding in 1960, Keio Construction has steadily built trust and a strong track record by operating under the management philosophy of "responsibility and integrity," and leveraging its reliable technical capabilities to carry out various construction projects, including urban development, government agencies, and private sector buildings, civil engineering, and railways. The company's strength lies in its ability to provide speedy and meticulous services tailored to customer needs through close cooperation with various companies within the Keio Group. Currently, under Our Group's Purpose of "We will continue to envision, create, and protect a future overflowing with smiles," the company aims to contribute to the realization of a better society by utilizing the combined strengths of the group.
In today's construction industry, collaboration between the construction site and the office is considered crucial, and the use of a wide variety of IT devices and cloud services (SaaS) is essential for streamlining operations. However, the increasing number of devices and services used is also increasing the burden of managing them.
The Planning Section of the Management Department in the company's Corporate Administration Headquarters, which handles the role of the company's information systems department, had long been struggling with the management of IT assets and accounts. The company has approximately 420 full-time employees and about 100 temporary staff and staff from partner companies, totaling 520 users of its internal systems. In addition to each employee being provided with a PC, the total number of devices under management, including tablets, smartphones, and communication SIM cards used at construction site offices, amounts to approximately 1,000.
Previously, device and account management was entirely handled using multiple Excel files. Ken Tominaga, chief of the Planning Section, Management Department, Corporate Administration Headquarters, recalls, "When I joined the Company, the first thing I encountered was this proliferation of Excel files. There was a separate ledger for each device and service, including PCs, smartphones, SIM cards, and various SaaS accounts, and each had a different format. Because all of this was managed manually, omissions and forgotten updates frequently occurred."
