CoolAutomation is an air conditioning control solution that connects various air conditioning equipment from different manufacturers and models to BMS, EMS, and the cloud for monitoring, control, and data utilization. Macnica has optimized CoolAutomation technology for the Japanese installation and operating environment, realizing simple and practical air conditioning control that makes use of existing air conditioning equipment.
*This solution starts with air conditioning control and can be expanded to include the operation of the entire building's facilities (so-called smart HVAC), including integration with ventilation and other equipment data.
Why has CoolAutomation been working to "free air conditioning from machines"?
Through our experience working with HVAC systems in buildings and facilities worldwide, CoolAutomation has witnessed the reality that HVAC systems are fragmented by manufacturer and equipment, preventing the flexible control and data utilization that should be possible. Despite HVAC being one of the most important pieces of equipment in a building, control methods are often limited by differences in manufacturers and models, hindering operational improvements and energy savings.
CoolAutomation believes that rethinking air conditioning from a "device-centric" approach to one centered on "control and data" is essential for future building operations.
The answer: "CoolMaster," an integrated air conditioning system.
CoolAutomation has always believed that in order to truly utilize air conditioning, it is essential to be able to handle all air conditioning systems within a single control and operation framework, regardless of the manufacturer or equipment. To achieve this, we chose an approach of creating a control platform that acts as a "bridge," absorbing the fragmented communication and control of air conditioning systems from each manufacturer and connecting them with higher-level systems such as BMS, EMS, and the cloud.
CoolMaster is the embodiment of this concept, made usable in the field. By integrating air conditioning with CoolMaster, it becomes possible to comprehensively understand the operational status and energy usage of the entire building, leading to more efficient energy management starting with air conditioning.
