Mr. Misumi:
There is a lot of subjectivity in the person's declaration, and it is difficult to know whether it is true or not. I wasn't sure, so I was considering incorporating elements that could be judged objectively.


Incorporating human biological information could bring objectivity to human judgment. As I was looking for a solution that would allow me to collect biological information, I came across Macnica, a company that handles brain​ ​waves.

Purpose

Aiming for the well-being of working people

Mr. Misumi: I always wonder how many people understand themselves and decide on their careers.

Therefore, if it is possible to objectively understand one 's own characteristics using biological reactions, it may lead to the well-being of workers *. I would like to convey the image that if it is possible to homogenize the conditions, create more reliable data, and create a database, it will lead to the solution of the company's problem of promoting the active participation of human resources, which is the well-being of workers. Mr. Misumi thinks that this will help solve the management issue of promoting the active participation of human resources.

* “Well-being” is a concept that means being in a good state physically, mentally, and socially.

As a result, the Sense Plus platform, an InnerEye solution that measures changes in emotions from electroencephalogram data, was adopted to measure biological reactions.

Attempt

Visualize concentration, interest, attention, and fatigue for tasks

In an attempt to solve the above-mentioned issues, we will use the brainwave solution provided by Macnica to obtain and analyze objective data on actual employees' aptitude for work.

Regarding the verification of the measurement of brain waves this time, 20 employees in the planning and management departments of Ebara Corporation were asked to copy sentences, enter data, and compose for the purpose of visualizing the characteristics of behavior by brain waves. We measured the brain waves when performing the task, and measured parameters such as concentration, interest/attention, and fatigue in each task.

As a comprehensive result of 20 people,
In terms of concentration, high scores were recorded for all items, and the scores for data entry tended to be slightly lower than those for copying sentences and composition.
In the items of interest and attention, the results showing the highest reaction to writing were the most common. Despite the similarity in the work itself to writing and copying sentences, there were many cases in which responses were low, and 19 people showed low responses to data entry, clearly showing a different result from copying sentences and composition. rice field.

As for the degree of fatigue, there were many cases of high responses in data entry and writing, but higher responses were seen in writing. Data entry is designed to be more stressful than document copying, and the results also show this.

My impression is that it is difficult to understand everything from just one​ ​electroencephalogram measurement, but when I saw the results of the first measurement, I realized that some characteristics came out.
I feel that repeated measurements are necessary, but I think it can be used as an approximate indicator of whether the task is suitable or not.

By equipping factory employees with electroencephalogram measurement equipment, which is the cornerstone of Ebara Corporation's technological capabilities, and measuring what they are paying attention to, I expect that this will lead to the passing on of technology.

Impressions about the possibility of using BrainTech

Through this project, he has high hopes for the possibilities of BrainTech using brain waves. “I had high hopes that I would be able to make objective judgments based on biological reactions, including brain waves, in assigning human resources. It's interesting," said Mr. Misumi's ideas.
