Macnica Announces "ANTERAS," an evolved version of our in-house developed Macnica ASM ~ A "preventive cybersecurity service" that enables risk visualization and identification~

Macnica (Head Office: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Kazumasa Hara, hereinafter referred to as Macnica) today announces the proactive cybersecurity service "ANTERAS," an evolved version of its in-house developed Macnica ASM* ¹, which enables risk visualization and identification.
Additionally, the conventional Macnica ASM will continue to be offered as one of the features that make up "ANTERAS," called "ANTERAS ASM."

Ante means "in advance" (to take action before getting up, not after),
The brand name Teras embodies the idea of "illuminating" (shining a light on the risks that truly need to be faced).

In recent years, advancements in AI technology have enabled attackers to execute more sophisticated attacks in a shorter time, resulting in a significant reduction in the time from attack execution to breach and subsequent damage. Given this situation, it is crucial to take preventative measures before an attack can be established, rather than relying on the traditional approach of responding only after an incident or anomaly is detected.
On the other hand, corporate information systems departments face challenges such as expanding roles in promoting digital transformation (DX) and responding to AI utilization, as well as a shortage of security personnel. Therefore, it is not realistic for them to review and continuously respond to the large volume of vulnerability information and alerts that arise.
Given this background, future security operations require a "preventive cybersecurity" approach, which involves identifying risks in advance, determining their importance, prioritizing them, and taking proactive measures.

Since 2021, Macnica has been supporting companies in visibility of IT assets that they had not fully understood, as well as identifying and prioritizing risks that need to be addressed by providing their in-house developed ASM solution, "Macnica ASM," as the first step toward realizing "preventive cybersecurity."
However, while ASM is an important starting point for preventive cybersecurity, it has become clear that ASM alone cannot fully capture the overall cyber risks surrounding enterprises.

Based on these challenges, the preventative cybersecurity service "ANTERAS" is a new service that supports the realization of a "Risk Operation Center (ROC)* ²" that manages and operates across a wider range of risk areas, building upon the expertise Macnica has cultivated in ASM. By visualizing previously unseen risks, identifying critical risks that need to be addressed, and promoting steady countermeasures, it supports companies in their transition to "preventative cybersecurity."

Leveraging the threat trend insights from Macnica Security Research Center, we identify "essential risks" that are difficult to see through superficial information or theoretical analysis but are actually more likely to be targeted.

Based on changes in attackers, challenges at customer sites, and advancements in countermeasures, we identify the risk areas that companies should prepare for next, and connect this to visualization and support.
