"Sowing seeds for the future" -Macnica introduces flower gifts from HanaCupid as part of its employee benefits program "Macnica Thanks Flower," which has a 97% employee satisfaction rate

Macnica (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Board Director: Hara Kazumasa; hereinafter referred to as Macnica) is pleased to announce that it has planned "Macnica Thanks Flower" as one of its employee benefits and has introduced the flower gift service from HanaCupid, Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo; Representative Board Director: Yoshikawa Noboru; hereinafter referred to as HanaCupid). Following a test run in December 2024, "Macnica Thanks Flower" was fully implemented in April 2025. As we mark the first anniversary of the test, we are releasing for the first time the feedback and satisfaction levels of participants gathered throughout the implementation so far.

■ Background of "Macnica Thanks Flower"
Macnica has long been active in activities such as company trips and clubs aimed at promoting interaction between employees. It has also long held events that families can participate in, such as "Family Day" and "Beer Party." In recent years, the company has also been holding events that keep up with the changing times, such as a "Walking Event" where employees compete to see who can walk the most steps using an app, and a "Cross Talk Cafe" where employees can interact and share information across department and generational boundaries.
With this "open atmosphere among employees" and "culture of valuing employees as well as their families" firmly established, we have come up with a new project called "Macnica Thanks Flowers," which allows employees to express their gratitude to their families.

■About "Macnica Thanks Flower"
"Macnica Thanks Flower" is an employee benefit that allows employees to give bouquets of flowers to their "important people" as a token of their appreciation.
This initiative has been implemented four times so far: first as a test for existing employees in December 2024, then for all new graduates joining the company in June 2025, and then as an open application system for existing employees in July and December of the same year. The response has been overwhelming, with the number of applications from existing employees far exceeding the 200-person capacity each time, making it such a popular initiative that a lottery is held.

I sent the flowers to my husband to express my gratitude for all his hard work, housework, and support for our children. It was a great opportunity to talk about work, and flowers are something the whole family can enjoy together.

Unlike the usual bouquets, the flowers were delivered via my daughter's workplace, which made me feel that she had grown up, and we had a wonderful time talking about work and the future through the gift.

Every day is busy. But then a surprise delivery of flowers arrives. It instantly brightened my heart and my room, and I was so happy. It made me think that I too would like to bring smiles to the faces of many people with the power of flowers.

■Effects of implementation
After implementing the program four times, participants were surveyed and 97% of them responded that they were "satisfied." Macnica uses surveys to verify the effectiveness of each employee benefit program after its implementation, and this program recorded the highest level of satisfaction among them.

■ Thoughts on the introduction of "Macnica Thanks Flower"

-How did "Macnica Thanks Flower" come about?
Macnica has always had an open corporate culture, and I myself feel a sense of "psychological safety" while working. At the root of this sense of security is a "culture that values family." Employees are able to work hard every day thanks to the support of their families. I would like to express my gratitude on an ordinary day.
By doing so, we hope to create a "virtuous cycle" in which a fulfilling home life leads to vitality at work. We planned this initiative with the hope that it would make employees feel glad to be Macnica employees.

-What is the reaction of employees?
"Macnica Thanks Flower" is overwhelmingly more popular than other employee benefits, with applications far exceeding the capacity each time, so much so that a lottery is held. Employees have also expressed their desire to have more slots available.
One employee even used the bouquet they received for their wedding photo shoot. Every time I hear stories like this, I realize how wonderful it is that the company can support each employee at a turning point in their life.

-How do you feel about sending flowers and the services provided by HanaCupid?
Flowers are the embodiment of feelings. Employees have commented that "warm communication was born precisely because it was flowers, not objects." The style of having local florists hand the flowers over directly has also been well received. Many employees have commented, "I was happy to receive advice on care," or "It made me feel warm to have the flowers delivered by a local florist," and we feel that the warmth of handing the flowers over in person is what leads to employee satisfaction.

Macnica will continue to enhance its employee benefits and provide a work environment that employees and their families can be proud of.

■Flower gifts from HanaCupid

HanaCupid is a service where florists deliver flowers directly to customers on their behalf to express their feelings.
In addition to our network of approximately 4,000 florists in Japan, we also have an overseas network of partner stores, allowing us to deliver fresh flowers from affiliated stores in approximately 140 countries and regions.
Taking advantage of this feature, in July 2024 we began offering services such as "A Bouquet with Your First Paycheck" that allow companies to express their gratitude to their employees and their families.

The turnover rate within three years is 37.9% for new high school graduates and 33.8% for new university graduates (announced on October 24th by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, "Employment Turnover Situation of New Graduates (Graduates in March 2022)").
