Macnica begins selling "Keeper," a corporate password management solution that securely manages passwords for internal systems and tools. ~ A practical solution that anyone can implement to combat the ever-increasing risks of unauthorized access and information leaks ~
Macnica (Head office: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Kazumasa Hara; hereinafter referred to as Macnica") announced today that it has entered into a distributorship agreement with Keeper Security APAC Co., Ltd. (Asia Pacific headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; SVP of APAC Sales and Japan Country Manager: Takanori Nishiyama; hereinafter referred to as "Keeper") and will begin offering the enterprise password management solution "Keeper" in Japan.
As digital transformation accelerates, companies today use a wide variety of internal systems, from on-premise environments to web services and SaaS. Many of these systems use ID and password authentication, and as the number of systems increases, the risk of unauthorized access and information leaks increases due to the use or reuse of weak passwords. While the use of SSO (single sign-on) and IDaaS (ID as a service) is also increasing as a means of strengthening authentication, they pose implementation costs and operational challenges, and cannot cover all systems within a company. Additionally, in recent years, the theft of passwords stored on local devices and browsers by information-stealing malware, known as infostealers, has become a serious problem.
In this situation, moving away from having employees manage their own passwords individually and toward using a secure system as an organization to centrally consolidate and manage password information is gaining attention as a realistic and effective security measure.
■Main features of Keeper
Keeper is an enterprise password management solution that combines simplicity with high security, allowing organizations to securely and centrally manage their entire organization's password management information while minimizing the burden on users and IT administrators.
[Point 1] Integrated password management for both on-premise and cloud environments
It securely and centrally manages all IDs and passwords, including those for web services and on-premise systems that are not covered by IDaaS, and strengthens authentication uniformly even in complex internal environments.
[Point 2] Use strong passwords and reduce the risk of credential theft
Complex passwords are automatically generated, saved, and entered for each service, limiting the reuse of passwords by employees and setting weak passwords, thereby reducing the risk of unauthorized access and information leaks. In addition, authentication information is securely stored in the Keeper Vault, not on local devices or browsers, minimizing the risk of theft by information-stealing malware (infostealers) that target authentication information.

Macnica will not only offer its enterprise password management solution "Keeper" as a standalone solution for small and medium-sized businesses, but will also integrate it with other cybersecurity solutions it already offers, such as EDR and SMP (SaaS Management Platform), to provide comprehensive security measures.
