Macnica Deploy CrowdStrike Falcon Identity Protection on 125,000 NEC Terminals ~ Macnica, CrowdStrike, and NEC Security Support the Largest-Scale Deployment of Falcon Identity Protection in Japan~

Macnica (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Representative Director and President: Kazumasa Hara, hereinafter referred to as Macnica) is pleased to announce that CrowdStrike (NASDAQ: CRWD CrowdStrike LLC (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative: Executive Officer, President: Isao Obazawa, hereinafter referred to as CrowdStrike) and Japan NEC Security Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director and President: Noboru Nakatani, hereinafter referred to as NEC security) in cooperation with NEC Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Board Director Representative Executive Officer and President CEO: Takayuki Morita, hereinafter NEC) For the purpose of protecting against identity-based attacks, CrowdStrike Falcon®︎ Identity Protection (Hereinafter Falcon Identity Protection) and CrowdStrike Falcon®︎ Insight XDR (Hereinafter Falcon Insight XDR We are pleased to announce today that we have provided the following. AI The native CrowdStrike Falcon®︎ Cyber Security Platform (hereinafter referred to as Falcon Cybersecurity Platform) and CrowdStrike 's flexible Falcon Flex These cybersecurity solutions, offered through licensing programs, NEC of 12 ten thousand 5000 It will be adopted on a number of terminals, and will be the largest introduction of Falcon Identity Protection in Japan *1

■Background
In recent years, as cyber attacks have become more sophisticated, Active Directory (AD), which is the core of corporate networks, has become a major target of attacks. Once AD is infiltrated, there is a high risk that a wide range of user information and access rights will be stolen, making robust identity protection essential. NEC has implemented various security measures up to now, but has always viewed multi-factor authentication for on-premise AD as an important issue in strengthening security across the entire domain.
Against this background, NEC considered introducing an identity protection solution that could apply Azure MFA (multi-factor authentication) to on-premises environments, and adopted Falcon Identity Protection. Falcon Identity Protection offers a variety of options to enable multi-factor authentication regardless of the status of the on-premises AD to which it is being introduced, and this was a major reason for its selection.

Benefits of CrowdStrike Falcon Identity Protection
Today, 79% of initial intrusion attacks are conducted using malware-free methods, and attackers are increasingly exploiting trusted human identities to infiltrate organizations unnoticed. At the same time, the rise of agent-based AI has led to a surge in machine identities (non-human identities). The Falcon Cybersecurity Platform is the only platform that can protect both human and non-human identities across hybrid environments, from early compromise of the attack lifecycle to privilege escalation and lateral movement.
Falcon Identity Protection is built on CrowdStrike 's deep insights into attacker tactics and the evolving identity threat landscape. This intelligence is embedded in the AI-native Falcon platform, providing comprehensive protection for both human and non-human identities across hybrid environments. Falcon Identity Protection leverages real-time signals from endpoints and devices, threat intelligence from frontline experts, and trillions of event data processed daily on the Falcon platform. This unparalleled data advantage enables AI-driven protection to prevent, detect, and respond to identity-based attacks across the entire threat lifecycle.

■ Strengthening security through an integrated approach that combines multiple products
NEC has deployed Falcon Identity Protection using CrowdStrike Falcon Flex (hereinafter referred to as Falcon Flex). Falcon Flex is a solution that allows customers to use the best-in-class modules provided by the Falcon platform with a flexible licensing system. It provides customers with the flexibility to deploy the functions they need, when they need them. Falcon Flex accurately supports NEC's evolving security requirements and maximizes the return on their security investments.

Now, with Falcon Identity Protection, Falcon Insight XDR can now monitor and defend against the entire attack lifecycle, from credential theft to endpoint compromise to network proliferation.
To further strengthen our security posture, we will continue to deploy CrowdStrike products, including CrowdStrike Falcon® Data Protection, a comprehensive data security solution.

Commenting on the announcement, Shinichi Fuchigami, NEC Corporation Corporate Executive CISO, said:
"As cyberattacks become more sophisticated, multi-factor authentication is one of the most important initiatives to reduce the risk of spoofing. NEC has implemented multi-factor authentication for on-premises Active Directory, as well as enhanced visibility into identity usage and fraud detection, with CrowdStrike Falcon Identity Protection, an identity protection solution provided by CrowdStrike. In addition, we have integrated with CrowdStrike Falcon Insight XDR and more, which significantly reduced the time required for incident response. Based on the concept of "zero clients," we will continue to provide valuable services to our customers based on the knowledge gained through these internal initiatives and contribute to the realization of a safe and secure digital society."

Macnica is committed to supporting the post-introduction of CrowdStrike products at NEC, and supports long-term product utilization. We will continue to strengthen our support for the utilization of our product services through the operation of the CrowdStrike community site, the first of its kind in Japan.

*1: Confirmed by CrowdStrike based on scale of adoption and number of users in Japan as of May 2025.
