Macnica begins offering robust, compact, high-performance industrial routers from TELTONIKA IoT GROUP, a leading cellular IoT gateway manufacturer
Macnica (headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Hara Kazumasa Hara; hereinafter Macnica) announced today that it has signed a distributorship agreement for Japan with TELTONIKA JAPAN GK, a part of TELTONIKA IoT GROUP (headquarters: Vilnius, Republic of Lithuania; CEO: Arvydas Paukštys; hereinafter Teltonika), a world-leading manufacturer of industrial network equipment, and will begin offering rugged, compact, high-performance industrial routers.
As the labor force declines, IoT is rapidly spreading in various markets in Japan. With IoT, all electronic and electrical devices are connected to the network, and data obtained from sensors and other devices is collected, processed, and visualized through the network, and the obtained information is used to control devices and for AI analysis. In Japan, in many fields such as manufacturing, logistics, and construction, the labor shortage is becoming more serious due to the decline in the working population and stricter labor regulations, making it difficult to secure human resources regardless of industry. In this situation, there is a demand to use IoT to improve the efficiency of operations in order to realize smart factories and manufacturing digital transformation.
The first thing you need to introduce IoT is a network. In the manufacturing industry, there are many factories where manufacturing equipment is already installed, and installing new LAN cables would be difficult and would involve huge construction costs, so wireless LAN is attracting attention.
Furthermore, factories are subject to a variety of environments, with extremely high temperature and humidity or extremely low temperature depending on the season and location, and the manufacturing equipment itself can act as an obstacle to radio waves, so network equipment needs to be highly robust and have good connectivity.
Teltonica, which Macnica will now begin carrying, has a long history of manufacturing industrial devices that are highly reliable and provide stable continuity even in such harsh environments, and the RUT951 in particular demonstrates high performance in the manufacturing industry.

Macnica will provide strong support for customers building IoT networks by offering Tertonica products that perform well even in tough environments such as manufacturing plants.
Additionally, Macnica 's current predictive maintenance solution for factories, "Mpression Smart Motor Sensor*," uses wireless LAN. By combining this product with Teltonica's products, it will be easier to build a wireless LAN environment, providing a solution that will enable the early introduction of smart factories.

*About Mpression Smart Motor Sensor
This is a failure prediction solution specialized for low-voltage three-phase motors, developed by Analog Devices, Inc., and provided as a service by Macnica as a partner. Users can simply perform initial setup using their smartphone, and the sensor will learn the motor's condition, and will receive an alarm if an abnormality occurs in the motor. Nine types of motor abnormalities can be detected, each analyzed with an independent normal value of 0 to 10, and users can minimize fatal failures and downtime without having special knowledge of vibration analysis or AI in predictive maintenance.
