We are pleased to announce today that we have provided Hewlett-Packard Japan's SD-WAN solution "Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN" to Shibuya Ward, President: Tetsuya Funahashi (Exeo Group).

■ Background of introduction
The EXEO Group, which has contributed to the development of telecommunications facilities in Japan, has seen a rapid increase in the use of SaaS, including Microsoft Teams, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and as a result, internal traffic has more than doubled. Initially, we dealt with this by increasing the number of Internet lines and carrier VPNs, but the increase in costs became unavoidable, and we decided to conduct a drastic review of the network environment. In particular, network control and security control were issues, so by adopting SD-WAN, we aimed to build a secure network environment with SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) in mind.

■ Reasons for choosing “Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN”
The EXEO Group selected SD-WAN products based on the following three points.
(1) Local breakout works and is highly effective in reducing traffic
(2) Cost reduction effect on lines
(3) Collaborate with other SASE vendors and receive accurate support

Compared to other products, Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN was highly evaluated for its ability to understand more from the interface and for its ability to visualize flows in real time. In addition, since Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN is a product handled by the EXEO Group as a sales partner, it was highly evaluated for its ability to increase knowledge by using it from the user's point of view, which led to its introduction.

■ Effects of introduction
After the introduction, we have realized the following three effects.
①By locally breaking out SaaS, including Teams, from all bases, we were able to significantly reduce the amount of traffic and improve the network bandwidth by up to 8 times. We were able to improve business efficiency by eliminating factors that hinder business.
(2) The cost for the entire network line is reduced by 70%, and the effect is even higher when the performance improvement is taken into account.
(3) Previously, traffic volume could only be grasped as a whole, but since it is now possible to grasp it at the application level, appropriate network allocation has become possible.

■ Future development
The EXEO Group is proceeding with the deployment of Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN, keeping in mind the introduction to nearly 400 bases of the entire group. In the future, along with the Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN that has already been installed, we plan to aim for stable operation at each site, and also aim to integrate network management, including inside and outside the company, using Aruba Central, a cloud management network product.
