In collaboration with Shinjuku Ward, Representative: Shunsuke Aoki (hereinafter referred to as Yukai Engineering), we will conduct a demonstration experiment of the ``BOCCO emo x Macnica sensor project'' that supports safety and convenience for residents and staff of nursing care facilities coexisting with the coronavirus pandemic in March 2023. It will start on the 14th (Tuesday).

This demonstration experiment was adopted in the "BAK NEW NORMAL PROJECT 2022" * 1, a new business collaboration project that looks ahead to post-corona, operated by Kanagawa Prefecture. It will be held in cooperation with Fairtown and Vintage Villa Yokohama.

■ Background
Residential nursing homes and serviced housing for the elderly, which are increasing as the population ages, are characterized by a small number of full-time staff due to the living space centering on private rooms. In addition, most of the residents are able to lead an independent life when they move in, or are a little worried about their lives. In some cases, care is required.
However, since the number of staff is limited due to the establishment of the facility, the workload of the staff becomes large in order to provide services such as individual care. In particular, it is psychologically and physically burdensome for a small number of staff to handle detailed management such as temperature monitoring in the living room, asking for medication and water intake, meal guidance, room ventilation and cleaning support. In order to solve these issues, we decided to develop services that utilize technology to provide residents and staff with safety and security.

This demonstration experiment will link Macnica 's air quality sensing technology "AiryQonnect" *2 and Yukai Engineering's communication robot "BOCCO emo" *3 to notify nursing facility residents and staff of the conditions inside the facility. , to verify improvements to the work environment.
Macnica provides "AiryQonnect" which can measure the air environment such as temperature and humidity, CO2, TVOC gas, PM2.5, etc., and will develop a platform that can be linked to air quality monitoring and "BOCCO emo".
Yukai Engineering will link the information obtained through AiryQonnect to BOCCO emo, which allows users to send messages via voice and text.
These systems will be installed in the rooms of a total of 10 households at the ``Seirei Fujisawa Welfare Town'' and ``Vintage Villa Yokohama'' paid nursing homes. In addition to monitoring environmental information with sensors, the robot can be used to prompt residents to take medication, control room temperature, ventilate the room, drink water, etc., and is expected to contribute to residents' independent lives. Furthermore, by visualizing the air quality status, including temperature and humidity, in the staff's rooms, we will verify the possibility of reducing their work burden.

Implementation collaborators
Elderly people living in nursing care facilities (2 facilities, 5 households each) will be asked to serve as monitors for the demonstration experiment, and will be used for communication with facility staff.
