Macnica joins the "Kanagawa Prefecture Corporate Cybersecurity Public-Private Joint Project" led by the Kanagawa Prefectural Police - Strengthening activities to improve the security level of small and medium-sized enterprises in the prefecture -

Macnica (headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; President: Kazumasa Hara; hereinafter referred to as Macnica), a total Services & Solutions provider in semiconductors, networks, cybersecurity, and AI/IoT, announced on Friday, June 10, 2022 that it has joined the Kanagawa Prefecture Corporate Cybersecurity Public-Private Joint Project (hereinafter referred to as the Project).

Cyberattacks are becoming more sophisticated and diversified day by day, and the damage they cause is increasing. Especially in recent years, there are many cases where attackers intrude into SMEs with weak countermeasures, such as their affiliates and trading companies, rather than large corporations that have strengthened their countermeasures. In the unlikely event of an intrusion, it may lead to business suspension and loss of credibility, but the current situation is that small and medium-sized enterprises have not taken measures such as lack of specialized personnel, budget, and man-hours.

Macnica, together with Yokohama Bank, the largest financial institution in Kanagawa Prefecture, has been working with Yokohama Bank, the largest financial institution in Kanagawa Prefecture, since last year from the perspective of mutual assistance as a company in Kanagawa Prefecture, promoting initiatives to improve and raise awareness of cybersecurity measures for small and medium-sized enterprises in the prefecture. In March 2022, we held the "Kanagawa Cyber Security Forum" with the cooperation of the Kanagawa Prefectural Police to share security measures and knowledge. We are also participating in the "Cyber Crime Prevention Volunteer" initiative led by the Kanagawa Prefectural Police, and are strengthening awareness-raising activities aimed at solving social issues related to cybersecurity, such as providing security education to local junior high schools.

This project is led by the Kanagawa Prefectural Police and is made up of 28 organizations including companies, universities, research institutes, and government agencies. The project aims to share information on threats in cyberspace, raise awareness of countermeasures, and improve the cybersecurity level of small and medium-sized enterprises in the prefecture. One of the objectives is to improve the Macnica has joined this project because we believe that we can further support small and medium-sized enterprises in the prefecture by collaborating with industry, government, and academia with the same goals.

Macnica will develop this project by leveraging its technical knowledge gained from many years of handling the world's most advanced cybersecurity solutions, as well as its own research organization, the Security Research Center's knowledge of attacker trends, attack methods, and countermeasures. Through this, we will contribute to local communities and businesses in Kanagawa Prefecture.
