Even in the midst of the Corona disaster, we were working on countermeasures with the proposition of "not stopping the repair service of medical equipment" and considering the introduction of robust measures to minimize the risk of concern in order not to stop the operation of repair centers.

Repair Center Risks and Challenges

As with manufacturing plants, it is difficult to fully introduce telecommuting at repair centers, and employees will inevitably have to work on site. Normally, we work while ensuring social distance, but depending on the work, it is unavoidable to have a close conversation during meetings, education/guidance, consultation, etc. In addition, even if all measures are taken in the workplace, the risk of infection outside the home or workplace cannot be eliminated, and there is a risk of clusters occurring due to viruses brought in from outside.

Once an infected person or a close contact person is confirmed, there is no way to objectively measure who and how much contact was made in the repair center, and it is difficult to narrow down the contact target based on ambiguous information based on memory. The tracking solution provided by Macnica networks is LoRaWAN from France's Actility.®/A system that monitors contact status using a small terminal compatible with Bluetooth Low Energy (hereinafter referred to as BLE). The dedicated terminals worn by each employee use a unique algorithm that utilizes BLE wireless communication to measure the distance and contact time between each other, and if the contact exceeds the standard value for close contact, an "alert" will be sent to LoRaWAN.®It is sent over the wire to a central management application on the cloud. The contact alert status of all devices is displayed and recorded on the application. Data can be searched by date and time, and CSV file output is also possible.

Olympus decided to introduce it because it was superior in the following points.
