IJCAI-PRICAI is the top academic conference in the field of the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence, bringing together researchers from various fields of artificial intelligence (AI). It is held every year for several days in July ~ August, and was scheduled to be held in Yokohama in 2020, but due to the spread of COVID-19 (COVID-19), it will be held online in January 2021. Members of our AI Research & Innovation Hub will be speaking at the session. We look forward to your participation.

Theme: Tool Degradation Estimation with Ensemble Learning

Overview: Estimating tool degradation is crucial to prevent additional maintenance and production costs in any machining process. To address this challenge, we present a method to estimate tool degradation condition with few data using digital signal processing (DSP) and an ensemble learning framework. this particular case, we deal with vibration data recorded from few drilling sessions. Because of the small number of data, we found out that using a single learner does not yield estimates. selecting features using DSP and strategically combining several learners' results, we were able to obtain more accurate estimation results even with a small number of training data.
