As a hotel that spreads news from Shibuya to the world, we have introduced the delivery service robot Relay as part of providing the latest services. Relay will wait at the front desk and deliver amenities and rental equipment to the guest room if ordered.

Trigger for introduction

The concept of SHIBUYA STREAM is “a sacred place for creative workers”, and for our newly opened hotel in Shibuya, the image of Relay, which is cutting-edge IT and cutting-edge robots, was very suitable for the concept. Our hotel has the concept of "From Shibuya to the world. A hotel that stimulates your senses." At the time of opening, there were issues such as how to provide topical services that match the hotel's concept, and how to provide services that would be interesting to customers. Also, there was a problem that the front desk was staffed by two people at night, and only one person was at the front desk when visiting the guest room. By using Relay, we thought that we could provide services that matched Shibuya's new concept and at the same time reduce the burden on our staff.

I believe that we are able to provide a service that will surprise our customers and make them feel interesting. Many customers can be seen taking videos and photos and uploading them to SNS. In addition, since female customers are reluctant to have people come to their rooms in the middle of the night, robots can provide services with peace of mind. We also have a voice. In particular, foreign customers and children are delighted. Our staff, who we call “Relay”, are already part of our team and have become an integral part of our service.

Future use

We would like to increase opportunities to use Relay in the future. As a benefit from travel agencies, we are considering a plan that allows guests to use the delivery service.
