Texas Instruments SN74LVC14A: Is it okay to put a 47000pF capacitor on the input stage?
Adding a delay capacitor to a Schmitt trigger type input is no problem. However, there are two points to note.
・If the capacitor does not exceed the recommended average current value of ±24mA (listed in DS) when charging or discharging, there is no particular problem. The absolute maximum rating is ±50mA average, so be sure not to exceed this value.
・When a load is being pulled, the voltage of the capacitor that has been charged after the load is cut off may lose its place to go and the voltage may rise somewhat, so make sure that the absolute maximum rating is not exceeded.
