Texas Instruments LDC1000: What are Eddy Current Losses in Inductive Sensors?
sensor
A current is passed through the coil of the sensor to generate a magnetic field, and the object to be measured is placed within this magnetic field. Electromagnetic induction causes the passage of magnetic flux and vertical eddy currents on the surface of the object. This field is radiated from the sensor, and is treated as a loss when viewed from the sensor side.
