Texas Instruments LDC1000: How do changes in eddy currents affect object detection with inductive sensors?

sensor

As the object to be measured approaches the external LC resonant circuit of the LDC1000, the magnetic flux intersecting with the object changes. This causes eddy currents in the object and mutual induction. Due to this mutual induction, the inductor L and series resistor Rs of the resonant circuit appear to change by L(d) and R(d), respectively.
