There is no problem even if GND is fixed to LOW when the device is in operation (after the initial setting).

However, since the I2C bus terminal is an open drain and requires a pull-up power supply, avoid floating it. If the terminal is open, the BUS voltage is not fixed and there is a possibility of malfunction.
